In-Game Fine Wine for All Players!
It’s been six months since the launch of Fallen Earth and in celebration we’re bustin’ out the bubbly for all current players and taking a look back at the progress made since the game’s release.
Recently named Best Online Game at Game Industry News’ Game of the Year awards and with several additional nods for Best MMO of 2009, Fallen Earth has come a long way since its September launch.
The addition of camps, taverns and gambling with social patch v1.2 brought more excitement to lonely clones while content patch v1.3 allowed players to begin exploration outside the radiation boundaries. A level cap increase, new creatures, missions, encounter areas, craftable items and revamp of several starter towns all brought more life to the wasteland.
Following content patch v1.3, we announced several environmental graphics enhancements, improving the apocalyptic atmosphere with enhanced scrub and terrain, lighting, shadows and fog affects. Further enhancements were also made to several gameplay elements such as animations and vehicles.
And in addition to Fallen Earth, LLC’s gameplay improvements, co-developer Icarus Studios recently launched a Mac beta client for the game, announced the soon-to-be-released iPhone application, plans for a Facebook application, Fallen Earth: Faction Wars, and a partnership with AFK Interactive, bringing a Fallen Earth mobile companion application to additional mobile phones!
“We’ve spent the last six months really listening to player and reviewer feedback,” said Project Manager, Colin Dwan. “Though a small team, we’ve been working very hard since launch to incorporate and enhance elements that the players really want to see.”
And to celebrate six full months of life in the apocalypse, we will be mailing all players with a current Fallen Earth account some in-game festive fine wine in appreciation!
Our community has been extremely supportive since launch and we couldn’t ask for a more engaged fan base!
Cheers!
-The Fallen Earth Team
