    Default Heading into Space!

Hey guys! We're going to give piloting in space a shot - you guys have any tips? Some of the quests out there seem really hard, and I feel like maybe it's because I don't know what I'm doing? Or is it just that hard? Let me know! I'm open to any suggestions/help you can offer.

Which squadron are you with? If its storm squadron that's prolly your problem, its almost impossible to solo as your first squad. the other 2 aren't as hard.

You prolly need to get a set of chips for your flight computer/astromech so you can use the higher tier overdrives, they make a huge difference. Your problem could just be that you have gotten to higher missions and the parts that came with the ship aren't good enough anymore.

If you want I can help you try to figure it out, I should be on tomorrow (Sat) afternoon.

Yeah. I went with Storm Squadron. I haven't had any trouble so far with the missions, but it probably because I upgraded my ship slightly yesterday. I was in a Syck Light Fighter. The one they give you when you first start the game. But now I'm many basic TIE fighter with some decent components. That made a big difference.

I haven't even found a flight computer/astromech yet. So I'm not really sure what you're talking about. I'm about halfway through the Tier 2 missions. Just getting ready to take down that Claw ship and its escort.

Awesome. I should be around in about an hour or so (on Saturday afternoon). My character's name is Damiyen An'driff if you want to watch out for me.

Find me in game and I'd be happy to group with you and run through the missions. If you need parts for your ships, or upgraded ships, let me know and I'll put em together for ya.

O.K... I am a space junkie but won't claim to be good at it. But if you want to have a good space experience here is what I would suggest.

    1) Upgrade to a heavy Tie Fighter. Initially you won't run out of weight with the standard tie, but you will eventually.
    2) Get the Flight computer mentioned. You will want to get some programs for the computer and load them on there. Reactor Overdrive, Capacitor overdrive, weapon overdrive, and Engine Overdrive (run them in that order when you get to space). You'll also want Emergency Capacitor to Shield Shunt. Put this on either a hot key or one of your function keys.
    3) When you get to about Tier 4 get the Eta 2 Actis (Jedi Star Fighter or JSF) from the mission at Kashyyk (Let me know if you need to find out where to start it). This is the best PvE ship in the game imho.
    4) If you can't get through a mission after taking say... 4 runs at it... ASK FOR HELP!!! A few of the missions are next to impossible to solo, particularly on the Imperial side of things. A couple of them you are supposed to have escort ships help you out... but they just sit there and watch. It is a known bug that they are never gonna fix.

Thank you guys for the offers. I'm going to take you up on them on Friday if the offer is still open. I will be busy with this stupid thing called real life until then. I did get a flight computer for my ship. A level 3. I currently have Weapon Overdrive 3, Capacitor Overdrive 3, and Emergency Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3 loaded into it. I don't really know what to do with them, and I have no idea if I can load more stuff onto it.

I managed to get all the way to Tier 3, but now I'm stuck on these missions. I just need to finish one more before I can upgrade to a TIE Interceptor, but it seems bloody impossible! I'm trying to escort this transport and by the time I shoot down one of the rebels, three more have shown up. I managed to get through the first leg by a sheer miracle, but my ship was trashed and I was under the impression "There's no way they could make me do any more than that!" So I home ported and at 75%, I got the waypoint for the second leg. Then I looked online and saw there was like five parts to this first mission. So yeah. If anybody is going to help me sometime this weekend, I will gladly take it.

On the bright side, I hit CL 45. I can't wait to get to 54 so I can make a new light saber.

Congrats on the level. And for any space stuff I kinda suck up there, but if you need a hand let me know at least I can absorb some of the damage till you finish the mission.
